🧴 How to wash a curly synthetic hair ponytail – gently and curl-preserving

The ICHA Beauty Premium Curly Synthetic Hair Ponytail is made of synthetic hair fibers that retain their shape best when handled with care. Do not use hot water or heat-producing tools, so the curls and fiber structure stay beautiful.

🪶 You will need:

• Lukewarm water (max. 25–30 °C)

• Mild, sulfate-free shampoo or a cleanser suitable for synthetic hair

• Light conditioner or a detangling spray designed for synthetic hair

• A soft towel

• A wide-tooth comb or fingers for detangling

• A hanger, stand, or towel for drying

💧 1. Brush before washing, only on straight hair

Gently brush the straight ponytail from the ends upwards, holding the base with your other hand. Use a wide-tooth brush or your fingers. This reduces tangling during washing.

🫧 2. Prepare the wash water

Fill a bowl or sink with cool or lukewarm water.
Add a small amount of mild shampoo and mix it into the water before submerging the hair.

🌊 3. Wash by submerging, do not rub

Submerge the ponytail in water and gently move it by hand so that dirt and product residue come off.
Do not rub, twist, or squeeze, as this can damage the curly fiber structure.
Let the ponytail soak in water for a few minutes.

🚿 4. Rinsing

Rinse with lukewarm or cool water until the water is clear.
You can gently pour the water through, but do not hold the ponytail under strong running water.

🌸 5. Conditioning and detangling

Spray with a detangling spray or light conditioner designed for synthetic hair (diluted).
Gently comb the straight ponytail from the ends upwards, holding the base with your other hand. Detangle the curly ponytail into suitable sections with your fingers and brush it into place. If the hair has become frizzy, you can use a light gel suitable for the curly girl method on damp hair.

🌬️ 6. Drying

• Gently press out excess water with a towel.

• Do not twist or squeeze.

• Place it to dry preferably on a flat surface or hang it on a stand with plenty of space.

• Let it dry at room temperature – no hair dryer, no hot air unless you want to straighten the curls!

💡 Curls return to their natural shape when the fiber is allowed to dry freely without heat.

✨ 7. Finishing

When the ponytail is completely dry, you can lightly brush the ends of the curls or use your fingers to shape the curls back into place.
If you want extra shine, use a light smoothing spray designed for synthetic hair, e.g. Cantu Shine Spray.

⚠️ Remember:

• Never use hot water or heat styling tools unless you specifically want to restyle the hair. The ICHA Beauty premium ponytail withstands 180 degrees of heat, but repeated heat treatment significantly shortens its lifespan.

• Avoid hair products containing oil or silicone – they can make the fiber heavy.

• Store the ponytail hanging up or in a satin bag so that the curls do not get flattened.
